Prior to setting up Bay Architects, Ben worked for other award winning architectural and design practices in Windsor, London and Kent.

The studio specialises in high end private residential projects, including extensions and adaptations to existing properties, new build houses and works on listed buildings and development within conservation areas. We also take on small commercial, developer led and community projects.

We do not have a preconceived design ethos nor are married to a particular style, indeed, we take pride in designing both traditional and contemporary buildings that befit the context and a clients aspirations. Natural light, vernacular materials to ensure a ‘sense of place’ and creating a sense of flow in plan layouts are key themes of the studio’s design ethos. Our aim with every project is to ensure the highest level of detail is achieved, running throughout a project from concept to completion.

We work with clients to understand their aspirations, brief and budgets, alongside site opportunities and constraints, to develop a design. We act as lead designer, guiding a project through the various stages including planning approvals, building control applications and tender negotiations. The practice has a clear design ‘process’: starting off with simple hand drawn sketches which develop iteratively into highly detailed information as the process evolves.

All of our work is overseen by Ben who remains the main point of contact for clients throughout the whole process.

Please explore our website for more information about the range of projects we have worked on and the services available. We look forward to hearing from you to discuss your own project.

Alongside practising, we have a great love of drawing, inspired by travel and differing architectural styles. Specialising in building and cityscape artwork, we have undertaken commissions for private house portraits. Please refer to the artwork page on this website for further information.
